About Oxford LowPro Trench Covers
Utility work should not shut down a sidewalk. LowPro trench covers are lightweight composite boards placed by hand over an excavation, with rubber edges that grip the asphalt. There is no lifting equipment, cold patch or asphalt ramp to deal with.
Three systems cover different spans and traffic. LowPro 11/11 is a 44 x 44 in, 53 lb board spanning up to 28 in for pedestrians and wheelchairs. LowPro 12/8 is 47 x 31 x 1 in at 37 lb for footway trenches of about 28 in. LowPro 15/10 is 39 x 59 x 1 in at 84 lb, spans 36 in and, per Oxford Plastics, carries pedestrians and vehicles up to 7,700 lb, with ADA ramp attachments available. Covers are yellow and black with molded anti-slip grips, and custom colors are possible with minimums. Infill strips and ramps make the system modular.
