About Deckorators Pro Fastening Systems & Screws
Face screws are sometimes unavoidable on a composite deck, especially on stairs, perimeter boards and single-board repairs. Deckorators Pro Fastening Systems let you face fasten without leaving screw heads in view.
The Pro Plug System is a plug fastening method for composite decking; screws are sold separately. The Fascia Fastening System combines a fascia tool with color-coated screws in stainless steel or epoxy-coated carbon steel. Color-matched epoxy-coated composite deck screws round out the line, with colors that follow the Deckorators decking palette, including Costa, Sierra, Khaya, Tundra, Glacier, Driftwood, Ironwood, Saltwater, Kettle and Dark Slate.
Deckorators calls for pre-drilling with a 3/16 in bit and recommends 2-1/2 in corrosion-resistant composite deck screws. Insert plugs soon after driving the screw to limit water and debris getting in.
