Hinge Joint Woven Wire
Hinge-joint woven wire, also called field fence, is a flexible, economical woven wire for cattle, sheep and hog fencing on farms and ranches.
About Hinge Joint Woven Wire
Hinge-joint woven wire, often called field fence, is the general-purpose woven wire found on many farms. Each vertical stay wraps around the line wires with a hinge, so the fence flexes under animal pressure and springs back. Uniform crimps in the line wires help keep it tight. It is made to ASTM A116 for zinc-coated woven wire.
Field fence is labeled with a simple designation: line wires, height in inches, stay spacing and gauge, for example 832-6-12.5. Stay spacing is 6 in or 12 in, and coating is Class 1 or Class 3 zinc. Ranchers commonly run a barbed strand on top and set the wire on round wood posts for cattle fencing. It is also used for sheep and hogs.
To quote hinge-joint woven wire, send the designation if you know it, or the animal and height, along with total footage, coating class, posts, corner and gate counts. Axiom South prices each line separately and ships nationwide.
