Oxford LowPro composite road plates cover trenches under vehicle traffic as a hand-placed alternative to steel plates, in 15/05 and 23/05 systems for utility and roadwork.
About Oxford LowPro Road Plates
LowPro road plates let crews cover a roadway trench without a machine to lift steel plates. The composite plates are placed by hand using EasiLift handles, and soft edges reduce noise as traffic passes. Per Oxford Plastics, a road-width trench can be covered in about 10 minutes.
Two systems are offered. LowPro 15/05 spans trenches up to 28 in using 3 x 20 x 59 in inner pieces (88 lb) and end pieces. LowPro 23/05 spans up to 48 in with 3 x 20 x 91 in inner pieces (143 lb), end pieces and a stillage. Per the manufacturer, both are rated for loads up to 97,000 lb, with 23/05 referenced to HS20-44 and AASHTO H25. A molded anti-slip surface serves vehicles, pedestrians and wheelchair users, and the modular design fits any trench length.
