About Cantilever Slide Gates
A cantilever slide gate hangs on rollers mounted to posts beside the opening and uses a counterbalance tail, so it needs no ground track across the driveway. Keep in mind that the clear opening is different from the overall gate length, since the tail adds length behind the opening.
We supply cantilever gates in steel and aluminum, with chain link and ornamental infill. When the gate will be automated, slide operators are usually chain-driven, the common choice in the U.S., or rack-and-gear. Power options include 12 V, 24 V, 120 V or 230 V, some low-voltage units can run on solar, and battery backup is available. Photo eyes, loop detectors and sensing edges help guard crush and entrapment zones.
