About Deer & Wildlife Fencing Guide

Deer can clear a typical pasture fence, so a deer and wildlife fence needs more height than most farm fences. The two usual materials are taller fixed-knot woven wire and welded wire. Fixed-knot wire is rigid and holds its shape over long runs, while welded wire is a lighter choice for smaller enclosed areas such as gardens.

There is no single correct height. Guidance varies by species and by location, and some counties and states have their own rules for wildlife fencing, so check local requirements and match the height to the animals you are keeping in or out before ordering. Posts need to be tall enough to carry the full height of the wire, with solid corners and gates that close tight.

Axiom South supplies the wire, posts and hardware for deer and wildlife fencing. For a quote, send the fence height you have settled on, total footage, the number of corners and gates and your preferred wire type. We send back an itemized quote and ship nationwide.
