Sheep & Goat Fencing Guide
A sheep and goat fencing guide covering square-knot mesh sized for horns, predator protection and electric components for small-ruminant farms and homesteads.
About Sheep & Goat Fencing Guide
Goats climb and lean, and sheep and goats both need protection from predators. That is why sheep and goat fences usually start with square-knot woven mesh. The opening size matters: mesh should be sized so horned animals cannot push their heads through and get stuck.
Predators are the other half of the plan. Many owners add an electric offset or a hot strand on the outside or top of the mesh to discourage dogs and coyotes, so energizers, insulators and ground rods need to be compatible with the rest of the fence. Solid corners, braces and tight gates keep the mesh from sagging where animals push on it.
Axiom South supplies square-knot mesh, posts, electric fence wire and energizer components for sheep and goat fencing. For a quote, tell us the size and breed of your herd, total footage, desired height, gate count and whether you want an electric strand. We prepare an itemized quote and ship to all 50 states.
