About Fortress Evolution Deck Framing
Fortress Evolution is a steel deck framing system with a Black Sand powder coat over G60 galvanized steel. Per Fortress, it is Class A fire rated, meets Wildland Urban Interface requirements, and is listed on the Cal Fire Safe Vendor List. It works with any decking and is resistant to rot, warping, splitting and insects.
Components include 16 ga 2×6 joists in 12 to 20 ft lengths, S-ledger in 12 and 20 ft for 12 or 16 in on-center spacing, 8 ft rim joist, 2×11 beam in 8 to 20 ft, double beam track, 3.5 x 3.5 in posts (8, 10 ft) and 5.5 x 5.5 in posts (8 to 20 ft), lateral bracing and a 4 ft tile deck tray. The interlocking joist and ledger system follows familiar wood-framing methods with minimal fasteners, in pre-punched and blank options. Brackets, post caps, bolt kits, screws and touch-up paint complete the order. Fortress lists a 25-year limited warranty.
