About TimberTech Aluminum Framing
TimberTech aluminum framing replaces wood under the deck with a complete system of joists, posts, ledgers and beams, made from recycled aluminum and compatible with all TimberTech decking and railing. It resists rust, corrosion, rot, insects and mold, and it carries a Class A flame spread rating.
TimberTech states that its 2×8 aluminum joist has strength similar to a 2×12 wood joist, and parts are made to tolerances in the thousandths of an inch. The system uses specialized components and fewer fasteners, with less on-site fabrication, and it is lighter than wood or steel. Modular stair components, optional riser lighting and fasteners round it out. It allows longer spans, fewer posts and cantilevers, and suits residential decks in wildfire-prone areas. Warranty is Lifetime Limited on major components and 25 years on fasteners and accessories.
