Axiom South Inc. supplies outdoor building materials, and our job is to get the right products, in the right quantities, to your site. We do the takeoff, compare brands with you, send an itemized quote, place the order, and coordinate delivery to any of the 50 states. We supply the materials and are building a nationwide network of independent installers, so installation is handled by you, your contractor, or an installer you hire.
Here is the whole process in six steps.
- First contact. Call 251-261-3091, email sales@axiomsouth.com, use the quote form, or visit the showroom at 11141 US-31, Suite J, Spanish Fort, AL 36527 (Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, Saturday by appointment).
- Project review. We look at your plans, sketch, measurements, or photos and ask about anything that affects the order, such as mounting surface, post height, or stair runs.
- Takeoff and product options. We count every component and, if you are still deciding, lay out two or three product options side by side.
- Itemized quote. You get a line-by-line quote. Most quotes go out within 1 to 2 business days once we have the details we need.
- Order confirmation. We confirm products, colors, and quantities with you in writing before anything is ordered.
- Delivery coordination. We give you a delivery estimate for your specific products, schedule the shipment, and tell you what to check when it arrives.
A takeoff turns your drawing into a parts list.
A takeoff is the full count of what your project needs, not just the main product. On a railing job, for example, that means more than linear footage. It includes:
- Posts, and the right post height for level runs versus stairs
- Top rails, bottom rails, and infill panels or cable runs
- Post mounts or base plates suited to your surface (wood framing, concrete, or steel)
- Gates, gate hardware, and latches
- Caps, covers, end brackets, and fasteners
- Touch-up paint or matching trim where the manufacturer offers it
Missing small parts is the most common cause of a stalled install. A careful takeoff catches them before the truck leaves. If you already have a takeoff from an architect or contractor, send it and we will check it against the manufacturer’s current components. For railing measurement tips, see how to measure for a railing quote.
We compare brands side by side so you can choose with real information.
We carry several brands in most categories, so we can show you real differences rather than steer you to one line. In railing alone we work with Vista (we are a Vista stocking dealer), Envision, Fortress, Feeney, Trex, TimberTech, Deckorators, RailMaster, Barrette, and our own Axiom South Cable Railing in 316 stainless and black. A typical comparison covers:
| What we compare | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Material and finish | Aluminum, steel, glass, cable, composite, and vinyl wear differently, especially near salt air. |
| Colors and profiles | Not every color is offered in every component, so we check that posts, rails, and gates all match. |
| Mounting options | Surface mount, fascia mount, and core mount each suit different decks and slabs. |
| Code-tested configurations | Manufacturers publish tested post spacing and heights. Your local building department makes the final call. |
| Availability | Lead times vary by brand and product, and we give an estimate with each quote. |

Samples and the showroom help you see finishes before you commit.
Our Spanish Fort showroom opened in July 2026 and displays select products and finish samples. It does not show every brand, and there are no appliances on display, so call ahead if you want to see something specific. If a product you are considering is not on display, ask us about samples. Seeing a color in daylight next to your siding or pavers is the easiest way to avoid a mismatch.
Local customers can book on-site design and measuring.
From Mobile to Pensacola, we offer on-site design and measuring. We come to the property, measure the runs, look at mounting surfaces and grade, and talk through layout. This is useful for stairs, curved runs, multi-level decks, and projects that combine several product categories. Outside that area, we work from your plans, photos, and video calls. Our article on ordering from out of state explains how that works. To schedule a visit, use Book a Visit.
Contractors get a straightforward trade relationship.
Builders, deck contractors, remodelers, and landscape or hardscape contractors can set up a contractor account. Send us your plan sets and bid documents, and we will turn takeoffs around so you can price your job. We quote one product or a full package, and we coordinate delivery to the job site on your schedule. Our own cable railing hardware and 1/8″ cable are kept in stock locally in Spanish Fort, which helps with smaller jobs and add-ons. Details are on our For Professionals page.

Frequently asked questions.
Do you install what you sell?
No. We supply the materials and are building a nationwide network of independent installers. You can search for an approved independent installer by ZIP code on our Find an Installer page.
How fast will I get a quote?
Most quotes go out within 1 to 2 business days once we have measurements and product preferences. Larger commercial takeoffs can take longer, and we will tell you when to expect it.
Can I order just one product?
Yes. We quote a single category, a few, or a full project. See one product or the whole package.
Do you ship outside Alabama and Florida?
Yes. We ship to all 50 states. Delivery timing depends on the manufacturer and products, and we include an estimate with your quote.
The fastest way to start is to send what you have, even a rough sketch with dimensions, through our quote form. To browse products first, start with railing and handrail or see how the process works on How It Works.
Questions about your project?
Send plans, measurements, or photos and we will prepare an itemized quote.
