About Hog Fencing Guide

Hogs test a fence from the bottom. They root at the ground line and push with their snouts, so a hog fence is built with small-opening woven wire or hog panels kept close to the ground. A gap under the bottom wire is where most escapes start.

Woven wire works well for longer runs around pastures and lots, while welded livestock panels are handy for pens, holding areas and traps. Some owners add a low electric strand along the inside to discourage rooting, which pairs well with either option. Strong corner and gate posts keep the wire tight so the bottom edge stays where it belongs.

Axiom South can supply woven wire, hog panels, posts, staples and electric components for the whole job. When you request a quote, tell us whether you are containing domestic hogs or keeping wild hogs out, the total footage, the number of pens or panels and your gate count. You will get an itemized quote, and orders ship to all 50 states.
