Horse Fencing Guide
A horse fencing guide on using visible no-climb square-knot wire with boards or rails, and why ordinary barbed wire is not recommended for horses.
About Horse Fencing Guide
Horses are fast, curious and easily spooked, so a horse fence has to be both safe and easy to see. The usual approach is no-climb square-knot woven wire, which has small openings that keep hooves from going through, paired with visibility boards or rails along the top.
Ordinary barbed wire is not recommended for horses. A horse that runs into or rubs against a barbed fence can be badly cut. The board or rail cap gives horses a clear visual line, so they know where the fence is even at a gallop, and it gives the wire a finished look along the driveway or front pasture.
Axiom South supplies no-climb wire, posts, boards and rails and the hardware to put them together. For a horse fence quote, send the total footage, the fence height you want, the number of corners and gates, and whether you plan a board or rail top. We return an itemized quote, and materials ship nationwide.
