Composite and PVC surfaces skip the staining but still benefit from routine washing to remove pollen, dirt and mildew. This page features three Wood Defender groups: Cleaners & Preparation for getting wood ready, Semi-Transparent Stains & Sealants for added color with some grain still showing, and Transparent Stains & Sealants for a more natural look. Prep comes first, since stain works best on clean, dry wood. Choose transparency by how much grain and how much color you want to see. Always follow the product label.
