MoistureShield Aegis Clip & Deck Clip

MoistureShield sells two hidden clips for its grooved deck boards, and the right one depends on the frame and the look you want underneath.

The Aegis Clip is made of glass-reinforced plastic and works on wood and metal frames. Its teeth seat in the board grooves and limit lateral board movement, which helps keep the gaps even over time. The MoistureShield Deck Clip is high-strength carbon or stainless steel for wood frames, and it holds the boards off the joists to reduce rot and mold on the framing. Per the manufacturer, the fastener line is backed by a limited lifetime warranty against loose deck boards.

Deck builders choose these hidden deck fasteners to keep screw heads off the surface of a MoistureShield deck, and the steel clip is often picked for wood-framed decks where airflow over the joists matters.
