There are two systems. The Anchor Tiedown System (ATS) provides shearwall overturning restraint, and it is evaluated under ICC-ES AC316. The Uplift Restraint System (URS) provides roof uplift restraint. Both use code-listed take-up devices. Simpson also offers design support services for mid-rise wood-frame buildings, with submittal-ready packages.
Strong-Rod runs are designed by the project engineer, often with Simpson's design team. For an itemized quote, send the Strong-Rod layout or submittal package, including run schedules, rod diameters, take-up devices, bearing plates and coupler counts.
