Strong-Wall Shearwalls & Portal Frames

Strong-Wall shearwalls are prefabricated wall bracing panels in narrow widths, code-listed by Simpson Strong-Tie. They help designers fit lateral bracing into walls with large openings, such as garage fronts and window walls, where a conventional sheathed shearwall would not fit.

Three options are offered. The Strong-Wall High-Strength Steel Shearwall has a narrow, high-strength steel profile with high allowable loads for tight layouts. The Strong-Wall High-Strength Wood Shearwall is code-listed for residential, multi-family and light-frame commercial work. The Strong-Wall Site-Built Portal Frame System provides narrow-width wall bracing for prescriptive markets.

Panel model and size come from the structural design, so the engineer's plans or the Simpson selection should drive the order.
