Trex Cladding is a square-edge composite board for vertical or horizontal facades on ventilated rainscreen or open-joint walls, supplied for new construction and additions.
About Trex Cladding
Trex Cladding is made with about 95% recycled plastic film and reclaimed sawdust, formed into a square-edge board that installs with deck screws. Boards measure 0.94 x 5.5 in. actual and come in 12, 16 and 20 ft lengths. They never need painting or staining.
Color choices span Trex Signature, Transcend and Transcend Lineage, including Ocracoke, Whidbey, Island Mist, Tiki Torch, Havana Gold, Spiced Rum, Lava Rock, Biscayne, Rainier, Jasper, Carmel, Hatteras and Salt Flat. Trex lists a 50-year residential and 25-year commercial limited warranty for cladding.
Per Trex, the boards are not waterproof and are not intended for long-term submersion, so the system relies on an open-joint layout with furring strips for drainage and airflow. A complete wall uses four components: a water-resistant barrier, metal or wood furring, cladding boards and recommended fasteners. Quote requests should include wall area, color, orientation and board lengths.
