Simpson Strong-Tie

Simpson Strong-Tie traces its start to 1956, when Barclay Simpson made his first joist hanger on a punch press in his father's window screen factory in Oakland, California. The company grew into a major producer of structural connectors in North America and is part of Simpson Manufacturing, which is headquartered in Pleasanton, California. It also runs its own research laboratory that tests building systems against high winds and earthquakes.

The company makes the connectors, fasteners and anchors that tie a building together, from joist hangers and hurricane ties to shearwalls, structural screws, adhesive anchors and mass timber hardware. Its products are used in residential, commercial and industrial construction, in both new work and retrofits. Simpson Strong-Tie also offers decorative Outdoor Accents hardware in a black powder-coated finish over ZMAX galvanized steel for visible work on pergolas, decks and porches.
